It is quite hard to adequately explain how special you two and your horses are. So many special moments but when I have the 'blues' I will think of that last ride with us all cantering across the plain with little Bella showing us the way. Your attention to detail with every single horse just shines through. It is quite amazing how you keep up the standard with so many strangers on their backs. Actually, it is not amazing really, just love and dedication!

Dear Ride Kenya.
'The riders called to say what an amazing time they had. They always enjoy our holidays but it is hard to know how one could be better than this. It was the very very best! Horses beautifully schooled and turned out. Tack very good. They knew that their safety and welfare was of primary concern. They got right up to the cloud (mist) forest and that was amazing. She likes to paint and had special appreciation of the light and scenery. Their driver for the week was brilliant. They found a mother lioness and her cubs. They enjoyed sundowners on their roof with Patrick and Nicola and then went off for a bush supper which was a wonderful experience and Kilimanjaro appeared for them. Then it went dark and Maasai dancers appeared out of the night and danced for them. They visited a Maasai village and saw a lot of game including cheetah, elephant and giraffe. All arrangements went really smoothly "

Having been on horseback riding vacations all around the world, there is no question in my mind that Ride Kenya has the best horses I have ever ridden abroad. Based in the Chyulu Hills of Kenya, they offer dependable, sensible, and extremely well trained horses that are responsive, comfortable and needless to say beautiful.  You can tell they get excellent love and attention and are extremely happy with their jobs as safari horses. I was impressed with the high-level of training Nicola and Patrick have invested in each of these beautiful animals. Each horse has a solid foundation of dressage and jumping experience. I have to say, there is nothing quite like galloping across the African Plains on a long rein aboard a Boerped or an African Thoroughbred. I can't wait to go back next year for another adventure with Ride Kenya!

Ol Donyo Wuas has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. Totally unspoilt, the scenery is fantastic and the fly camping an experience not to be missed. When I say camping, there is no crawling around in a leaky tent on this trip! We were extremely well looked after, nothing was too much trouble, lost luggage appeared as if by magic as well as a surprise chocolate birthday cake produced on a camp fire in the bush - no mean achievement in my book! We were a party of mixed ages and abilities, but were unanimously agreed that camping in the Chyulu hills was the highlight of our two week Kenya trip.

What could be more enjoyable than riding a superbly schooled horse across the wild open space of the african savanna, getting unbelievably close to so many animals?  Top that off with a bush breakfast accompanied by wonderfully clear views of Mt Kilimanjaro and the Chyulu Hills and you have the beginnings of your Ride Kenya experience. To choose one from many amazing moments, seeing cheetah carrying cubs from horseback has to be my favorite.  Nothing is too much for your hosts - they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you could possibly want and their infectious enthusiasm and unending knowledge of the area they live and work will remain with you for a long time after your safari ends.

The scale of the lush green plains spread beneath the gracious Chyulu Hills is unexpected and overwhelming. Cantering across them amongst gazelle and zebra playfully darting around is a taste of Africa at its most romantic - there are many on this trip.
